Tried to replace the extended window latch with the aluminium billet. Instead broke the metal latch that attaches to the frame on driver side. Any ideas?

Mine broke where the hinge pin inserts. Try to jeld weld it but no luck. Where did yours break. Is it the window latch or piece that has two bolts holes and on the frame?
