    Greetings All

First timer to post on this site but I've been a regular visitor for years and appreciate all the great info/insights everyone provides. You all have saved me $1000s over the years and will likely save me more going forward.

The right side of my bumper sustained damage which ultimately bent the right mounting bracket and resulting in a full replacement of the chrome bumper and valance. The removal/replacement could not have been more straightforward except for the fact that the right bumper mount support, which the brackets attach to on the frame, received damage as well. I've attached a pic that i found on this forum with nearly identical damage; however, there wasn't much info in how they repaired/replaced it to install the replacement. Long story short, I was able to hammer out the tab portion of the mount but not the entire support. This resulted in me being able to install the new bumper; however, it is still cockeyed.

My question(s) to you all is does anyone have any experience "hammering" out or straightening this mount? If so, I would appreciate any guidance on how it was performed. If a replacement is required, does anyone know the PN for the mount?....I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Mine has been cockeyed for years after trying DIY fix. Havent found # or salvage part but I have yet to check auto body/frame shop which may be more help than this forum. Good luck and Welcome to Yodaworld,

Appreciate it Black Dog. I took a pic of it at lunch. As you can see, I was able to install the bumper bracket...but barely. It took some pulling up on the bumper itself to line it up enough for the bolt to go in crooked. My best guess to repair it is to heat it up enough to hammer it out..who knows?

I heated mine with map/oxy torch and beat it all kinda ways especially up because it looked turned down compared to the other side, did a lot of measuring between cherry red steel and hammerings. The bumper lined up to mount but is still 1/4 inch low on that side. The picture looks far worse than my end result except mine looks like antique wrought iron.

I was rear ended sitting still at a red light and shoved into a prius which had to be dolly towed away. I got an insurance settlement for vehicle damage of $3600 for front and rear bumpers a front valance, rear tow hitch and the plastic clips which held 1 front turn lens. My passenger wouldnt talk to the agents on the phone and 3 weeks later recieved a $5000 check at my address.

Well this happened a month after going from full coverage to liability so I'm hoping to avoid a body shop.
