I consulted this forum for LED feedback and did a ton of research including reading a stupidly long thread about LED's and here is where I ended up. The light bar is a Putco and I spent about $550 for 7000 lumens installed with no mods to the truck other than the switch in the dash. I am very happy. I hope this post helps others with my generation Tacoma. Any questions just hit reply, and thanks for viewing. Please note that in image 2 my driveway slopes downward so the light pattern reflects that.

    Pretty well stock
Wow! That is really bright and really goes unnoticed when not in use.

Yeah, sorry to say it bud, but you got ripped. That's either one expensive bar, or some expensive labor for install. I think you could've tackled that job yourself. We would've helped you with it;) My 20" in bumper has over 10k lumens and I paid $165 I think it was.. Granted I installed all mine and made custom brackets, but I paid about $650 for all my bars totalling 40k lumens.

I mean, your light does look good, but 7k lumens is barely enough for a light bar.it's certainly good for that tiny low profile bar. But still, a full size(as in a 20"-30" filling in the valance) would've been cheaper and just as easy to install..

Idk, it works and as long as yer happy;)

Sounds like I paid quite a bit. Oh well. The parts and installation are lifetime warrantied and I am happy with my light. I would use the vendor again.

If you were going to spend that much on a light bar it'd better be a rigid or baja designs

Too late now! The bar was $380- the rest of the $550 was labor and tax. As stated, I am happy with what I purchased and will continue to learn as I go.

Thank you Admiral. I was feeling a bit low about thinking I overpaid, but your post helped. I didn't have to lift a finger, and I got a light that I like with a clean install and lifetime warranty from a place I've used for the last 12 years.

WHat type of bracket was used? Was it a bracket that came with the light. Who installed it if you don't mind? Looking to install one myself soon.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
I have a set of Rigid Industries LED Driving lights and my observation with LEDs is that they don't throw light down the road they only illuminate in front of the truck or at the sides(peripheral). Yes they are bright and look like they are bright when you shine them at the garage door or wall or whatever but this has nothing to do with their down road illumination.

The bracket came with the light and it was installed by Mike Ryan's in Pensacola, Florida. I checked the price of the light on Google shop and they did not over charge me for the light as others felt they had. Good luck with your install. Mine went pretty quick- tech said it was a fairly easy install for that light in that spot for that year Tacoma.
