Some things I would be thinking about

I think I would take the box off the truck and pressure wash the frame, do my own inspection. If nothing is found give it a good spray of fluid film. If you find something questionable lots of pictures and contact Toyota

I would also book a second appointment at a different dealer asap

Research the common spots and inspect them yourself

Might want to invest in a chipping hammer

I have a 2002 with 48K miles in mint condition. I bought it in NYC with 29K but they salt the roads there. Their is small amounts of rust on some of the cheap fittings through out the truck. I called the 800 number and was happy to hear the previous owner had it recoated during the recall in 2012 and had the spare tire holder replaced as well. But Im going to take it in to a dealer though this month for one last look before the 15 year warranty date is up.

    Pretty much stock right now
Good idea. Get it done before your warranty runs out. I bought two tacomas on Long Island and both of those frames failed inspection.

It was in Northern Utah for 11 years haha which explains the rust. Luckily all the rust is on of the outer frame. The inside of the frame is solid. Phew!!

Wow that makes so much sense as to why I keep seeing so many JDM imported engines with only 100,000 miles on them. Thought that was kind of weird.

Mine was also in Utah. put your finger in the rectangular hole infront of the rear leafs. Lots of flakes in there for me but no perforation. Will be removing the bed before august and checking in there.

I was using converter and POR 15. Started in front and made it to the back of the cab so far.
