Why are you fixing it? It’s the responsibility of the facility that did the work to make it right! A vehicle that “dog tracks” is illegal here.

I have other things to do that take priority over wrangling with a Toyota dealer over it and dealing with the down time.
And I've already modified the frame in other ways, so I'm sure that would throw a wrench into the works, warranty-wise.

Liked, but don't like. I remember seeing pics a while back of them lined up on dealership lots and a car carrier filled with Taco's destined for the crusher.

Some dealers were more knowledgeable about the program than others, when my 97 went in to be checked surprisingly it was the first one they had seen fail and go through the buy back process. It was strange as they didn't have much info for me initially and just sent me off in a loaner Corolla.

... and no parting out of perfectly fine interior and other parts in good working order :(
could have sold them as 'refurbished' and sat in one of many warehouses until somebody needed them

i wish i knew of somebody that was in near-similar shoes as i was in 2o11 when my truck was getting checked to compare horror stories lol
there has to be other genuine survivors out there!

... i was ready to do battle for my truck's survival after I had just recently learned of this frame issue and my relative's '98 4cyl standard cab had just failed the hammer
i was not thrilled with the looks of the 2nd gens at that time so the buyback stuff was in no way an option i was willling to consider after all the toils I had taken in the previous 14yrs to keep my truck tipTop in the midwest climate

and now i am getting grief for my stupid rope hooks o_O
yes, i know its just a truck but i just don't see any small compact trucks being made anymore (going on 15yrs now) that are 4x4 capable
not even sure they make small 2wd either anymore

Just buy a new one. Much faster and easier than messing with a old one.

Because Toyota is in the business of selling new vehicles! Not scrap or salvage operations. They leave that to GM:devil:

Pioneer Radio, New rear bumper (that does not really count though). Going to be upgrading it more and more as time goes on.
Idk, not sure. Other than the issues I listed above (Toyota dealer issues) the frame is mint, and awesome!!
