Got the truck out in Tahoe/Truckee -- kissed a snow bank but made it through some really interesting snow! Would love a winch next time!

    Updates:
February - Oakhurst, CA - got the truck in some snow and had to pry a Jeep off a snow-covered log on a trail. A few people showed up and made quick work with a chainsaw and some extra hands.
March 30th - Did a trail that was so windy branches were breaking off from the trees onto the trail so I survived the night and went farther south to Santa Barbara for some light afternoon trails.

    Additions to the truck:
New bed Bar, Tepui Ayer, and bumpers on the way!

    There are indeed!
Waiting on my Jan-2019 bumper order from @RelentlessFab.

I also went on another Han Solo Camping Trip (the wind was so strong--I would likely agree to any wind speed--) I ended up hiding on a cut out of the trail harbored away from the wind. However, the next day was beautiful and only the subtle EXTREME wind remained. SOOOO I made my way to Santa Barbara and took the truck on a beautiful trail from SB to Goleta following this.

My Cousin's Jeep was in the shop getting some driveline parts. So, he rode passenger and brought his replacement Jeep with him.

Only recent modification has been the little 1" hub-centric Wheel Spacers making a little go a long way.

    SOME UPDATES:
1st Gen Tacoma CBI Overland Bars
There's little to no information on these so I wanted to compile as much info as possible below.
These bars seem to be the same kit as the Chevy Colorado kit from CBI (hardware bags stamped 1st gen & chevy).
These cannot be installed with a plastic bed liner if it covers the inner edges of bed; you'll need to access behind the edges to install the "pillars". I had to remove my bedliner to install these (which is fine, i'll get my bed spray-lined at some point).
In the box you'll see everything on the left side; on the right, is the MaxTrax Overland Bar Brackets (Sold separately). These MaxTrax Brackets are not on their website but call to inquire and I believe their price is $125 +t&s. They also have a HILift bracket for $95.

Install: The installation is rather simple. The larger Tower rests on the edge of the bed, and the small C-bracket goes on the inside rail. I had the bolt head on the inside so the nut was toward the center of the bed so if I loosened the brackets, I could slide the bars into different locations along the bed rail.

Once I bolted/clamped the pillar, I set the 2nd one behind it and adjusted how far apart based on the length of the MaxTrax Bracket and pins.

Leaving everything slightly loose, I mounted the MaxTrax Brackets, placed a MaxTrax on the pins/mounts and tightened those two towers, brackets and pins. (Old bed bar for height comparison)

With that, I measured that side, and placed the other towers on the opposite rail, bolted down and then placed the Bars on top.
The bars on top have some left/right room and make sure your tailgate opens/closes before you completely tighten everything up.
Lastly, when everything is tightened, the rack should be sturdy and squared up.

    Tepui and rear-facing lights installed.
