Hello everyone I have a 2002 prerunner v6 and i need to replace my uca's. I live in phoenix and the first shop i took it to asked $680 for each side. Im not sure if that is a fair price or not but to me it seems like a bit too much. What do you guys think?

No way. If you're willing to spend that much, order some camburg or tc uppers, and take them to a off-road performance shop and it'll still cost less I bet.

Why does the whole control arms need replaced? Wreck? Of not then they should be just fine and the components can be changed like bushings and ball joints.

You can even get some light racing control arms even cheaper too. Camburg/tc run around $700. For both. Light racing's are like half iirc.

Otherwise if they really do need replaced and you need a shop to do it, find some from a wrecking yard or pick n pull or whatever, and have a shop install them. Or post in the regional forum for your location and see if anyone's close by to help that has the tools. Its not that bad of a job with basic hand tools.

Replacing the components is a bit more work if your stock ones are in good shape. But again if a shop is needed for the work, it would be cheaper to do a complete arm versus having them do extra labor on the components.

I would try to find a used set like night prowler mentioned but the majority of your cost is going to be labor so I wouldn't say that price is a ripoff, ballpark shop costs.
