I know what you meant. I talked to my dad years ago about car prices in his days when he was younger... It was around 5k range.. His parents in their days was around $800 range. If getting used vehicles, you can get them for half or free.

In 80s, the prices gone up, since they have better faster engines these days. They added aftermarket stuff such as big tires in rear and skinny tires on front and upgraded engine.. Which some cars were like that in 80s on public roads. 90's price has gone up lot more. Then you know the rest of the years to this point.
