It's wild how this thread magically re-appears whenever my shifter bulb goes out.

The fact I am back here once again means I am getting bulb from Toyota this time around. (The last two bulbs came from AutoZone.) Hopefully that will last as long as the OG bulb.

@glwood6 Let us know how that LED works out :fingerscrossed:

Huh. I didn't even realize there was a light bulb there. Driving at night I just have to guess or feel where the shifter is. Probably should replace it now.

The LED bulb made a huge difference. I wouldn't bother with the Toyota bulb.

Which LED bulb did you go with? The 74-W?

HA! Get a bulb in there and you'll turn that 1st gen into a luxury vehicle for just a couple of bucks.

No longer oil everywhere, but no exhaust either
I still use a $0.18 ebay shit LED. Sucks it doesn't diffuse well, but at least I don't have to revive this thread every 6 months :burp:

Mine are not, just on or off with the headlights. The difference between this and the Sylvania halogen bulb was immense. I can see this light during the day, and the halogen, no way - only in the dark.
