I have a 2002 tacoma that has a high idle for the past month, it idles about 2000 rpm's. I cleaned the IAC and the throttle body. I replaced the throttle positon sensor but it didnt help. I noticed that my temp gauge needle is a fraction lower but still warms up abut the same time. HELP.

    Try replacing the thermostat.
Also, check to see if there is slack in the throttle cable (if you have one).

I have NO experience working with the IAC, but it is a likely culprit, since its job is to control the idle, wish I could help you there. Outside of one time not having any slack in the throttle cable, I have yet to have idle issues with my truck.

However, I do have experience with vacuum leaks. Check the vacuum lines that are attached BELOW the throttle.

Also, clean the MAF sensor (just downstream of the air filter). Be sure to only use a MAF-sensor cleaner. DO NOT TOUCH IT with anything. Lots of threads on the MAF, and youtube videos. Easy to do. I clean the MAF at least once per year as part of normal maintenance.

Found the problem!!!! Remove the throttle and readjust the idling stop screw.

(((((((IT HAS TWO OF THOSE DAMN THINGS))))

ONE IS VISIBLE, AND THE OTHER IS BEHIND THE THROTTLE CABLE LINKAGE.

Mine got loose over a long trip hauling ass. Safe travels.
