that I can use? Recently bought the truck and I know the stock oil filters are often pretty small?

Let me know if you've used a larger filter...if so, please provide manufacturer and part number if possible.

    thank you

and only about $5.41 plus tax at the dealer...

x2 on quality, far superior to anything offered on the market today, actually about twice the filtering area...

    Thanks

But is there a larger filter than the standard Toyota filter that will work in this application? Or am I stuck with the standard length filter, due to clearances maybe? I haven't yet done an oil change on this vehicle.

For example, in my chevy truck I was able to get a longer length filter that fit.

Also, would the Toyota Filter be superior to the Mobil 1, K&N, and maybe WIX? I know the first two are a good quality filter.

I used to use Mann oil filters in my old mercedes diesel, and that was a very good quality also.

Thanks again for all the help

Not sure if you can get a bigger filter, but is it really necessary? There was a member on the boards that cut up some cross sections of the Toyota filter and an aftermarket one. The difference in filter media and quality made the choice easy. I only use the Toyota ones.

There is a crossmember right underneath the oil filter on your truck, I can't remember off the top of my head how much clearance you have though. I think by the time it's threaded all the way off you don't really have much clearance
