My trucks frame was replaced by Toyota in Oct 2011. The new frame looks worse than the old but Toyota offers no help. Are with others with similar problems? Is there a new class action suit? Did you get it repaired? How? Thanks

I believe you only get one gift from Toyota. Agreed where the hell do you live that in 10 years it looks like that? I hope you are not driving this at all.

I drive it as a second vehicle in NJ. About 5000 miles per year. Hardly ever in snow but -I use it for fishing on the beach. I never get near the water and get underneath washed at car wash. Some parts of frame are not ever rusted.

I belong to a fishing club where dozens of guys drive on the beach way more than me and never had problems. I fish fall only, never drive through salt water, truck is only in shore area a couple of months a year. Guessing no one else has had a similar experience judging from replies.

After you got the new frame, did you treat it all? Fluid Film, Woolwax etc

This carnage makes me appreciate my clean CA frame. I would NOT drive that anywhere. That front leaf spring mount is ready to give up the ghost.

    I wouldn’t drive that another 2’.

Your leaf spring hanger is about to rip clear off your frame.

Not to mention the massive perforations in the rest of the frame that can have it snap in half.

Did you even look under the truck since the frame replacement? That amount of corrosion didn't happen overnight and could have been prevented or at least slowed down.

What I will never understand is why Toyota continues to make such shitty truck frames; You’d think they’d learn from their mistakes and improve on the design…

Toyota is seriously the manufacturer of trucks, domestic or import, that has been forced to replace the frames!

How close is your parking spot to ocean air? Do you park over dirt or grass? That’s pretty ugly for a NJ car unless it’s parked where there’s high salt water humidity. How have your neighbors cars fared?

edit: Do you go on ski vacations to Vermont every year? That really looks like a Vermont truck underneath. I don’t know what they put on the roads up there but the new car dealers must love it.
