    Hey all,

Been doing some research on buying a used Tacoma. New to the Tacoma world but have owned Corollas and Camrys before and currently. Need a "work" truck, for hauling general around the house stuff, wood, soil, furniture, and possible for commute every once and awhile.

I have an option from a cousin:

2003 Tacoma SR5 TRD 4WD with 222,xxx miles and new tires as of September. He's done really good (from what I can tell) maintenance on it, replacing almost anything that shows signs of problem during his ownership. Him and his dad owned it since new. They're asking $9,000 for it. I've done some research and heard a lot about the frame and am planning on asking them about it but wondering if there are any thoughts from the smarter than I crowd out there!

    Much thanks!

Check for service records, look at frame, and check some of the simple stuff with simple tests like oil, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, check belts, shocks, ect.

3.4L engine? Double cab or extended? I think if its a 3.4L double cab, its a good price. If its an extended cab, and/or 4 cylinder engine, then its an ok price depending on maintenance etc. More details will help
