I just bought my Dads 2003 TRD double cab! I plan on going out into the bush every weekend. I live in British Columbia so I have so many opportunities to get out there!

I love the look of big tires on a truck but I also want my truck to perform well on the trails. Originally I wanted to do a 6” lift on 35’s but I have been told I’d be breaking a lot of parts. So now the idea is to do a 3” lift on 33’s

I came from Solid axels and don’t know much on IFS. What is the best lift kit for performance on the trails and what parts would be replaced? Can I just throw the lift and tires on, or do I need to do any special adjustments like backspacing, etc...?

I have looked into Old Man emu but when Im on their website they don’t show anything for 2003 tacomas.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Bilstien 5100 and a shackle for the rear. I wouldn't go over 2" lift with the front.

Agree, 2-2.5" lift up front is where you should stay, any higher and you risk damaging CV joints. If you're looking for the best quality suspension for the truck, you really can't beat a Fox or King. Good quality however comes with a larger price tag. But their shocks are rebuildable, adjustable and tunable. Tacomas are pretty straight forward for lift kits, just depends on what you will be doing with the truck. In addition to front and rear shocks, you may need front upper control arms and rear leaf springs.
