Spec D headlights (garbage, Do not buy) replaced bulb with H7 80W Osram Off Road bulb so I could actually see. The lights they send do not put off any light at all and it's impossible to see anything at night... TOYO Open County AT III's (smooth ride, not loud) with Matte Black 17-In. TRD PRO Wheels Plasti dipped emblems and Bull Bar (Lasted about 2 years, need to spray them again)
My neighbor gave me a 2005 4Runner Hood with a scoop... I was going to swap it out with my 2003 Taco hood, but found out it's not the same size...
I was planning on taking my Taco in to get painted today because the FL sun has really done a number on the paint, plus there's a lot of scratches and scrapes from the previous owner...
    I read this thread...
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/92846-2004-4runner-sport-hood-2004-tacoma.html
it looks like no one is 100% sure if a 1999 - 2002 4Runner SPORT Hood with scoop will fit on a 2003 Tacoma...
I know the '05 4Runner hood I have will definitely NOT fit, but I'm willing to call a few scrap yards today to see if anyone has a 99' - '02 4Runner sport hood cuz my truck really needs to get painted...
not sure where to go from here... I'd like to have the scoop, but if it involves a lot of body work, I'll just keep my current hood and paint it... anyone know For Sure if it will fit??! don't want to waste my morning calling junk yards...

Also, I'm looking at doing a Satin black... Originally I was going to do a Flat Matte black, but there's no UV protection... I found one online that I really like in Satin... Any thoughts/opinions?!!

you can swap the 3rd gen 4runner front clip to the taco, but that 05 hood wont bolt up.

And to make the 3rd gen hood fit, you need to swap the fenders, bumper, grille, headlights, etc... I am 95% sure.

I would just have a body shop cut and craft the hood from the 05 hood to yours.

I had it done on my 99 Tacoma with an 05 X-runner hood.

    Good luck

thanks, wasn't looking to spend a bunch of money on body work, so I guess I'll just see if anyone on here wants my 4Runner hood before I throw it in the scrap metal pile...
My truck will still look good with a brand new paint job without the scoop... I was just hoping the 99-02 runner hood would fit snug if I could find one in a junk yard... thanks for the help!
