Looking to start a Baja style build. I found a kit for the front but nothing for the rear. Anyone have any ideas I can do and still keep the bed functional? I'll have pictures of my truck currently and some parts I plan to use up soon!

Follow up what's everyone's opinion on a bullnose full front bumper vs a Baja style? Really like the multiple options that a full bumper gives over a tube bumper

on a first gen, only way to keep the bed intact while going LT rear is cantilever... not cheap and best way to do it is swap out entire rear axle with a Tundra and run the suspension outboard (outside the frames as opposed to inside the frames)

it's not a production DIY kit... need to have it custom built on the truck...

He could do the 12" angled shocks? Nothing close to a bedcage or cantilever, but more travel nonetheless

What's a Baja style build? Like Baja Fresh the restaurant? I didn't know they had a build your own option! I went there like 3 weeks ago and got some tacos, on a Tuesday. Pretty dang good. Might have to go again for lunch today.

that can be done too, but i recall someone running into issues at full compression, especially on hard landings...

    Check Build thread
    Run a lowkey bedcage?

Few places sell a kit to run shocks outboard the frame BUT there are some downsides such as possibly having to run wheel spacers or have a certain offset wheels.

Also could angle the shocks slightly under the bed but may have issues tuning sense the angle changes as the shocks compress

12" Stroke Short Bodies mounted at an angle with higher valving. The higher valving offsets the high angle. Has currently been my best set up with out cutting the bed and with out spending a ton of money.
