2003 tacoma regular cab 4x4

So I have a 2003 tacoma manual transmission 4x4 regular cab I just bought it. I’ve been testing the 4x4 lately and I noticed 4h is not engaging. 4l work perfect. But in 4h only back wheel work and doesn’t engage and no light comes on... any help on this issue I would really appreciate it
