I just ordered five Tacoma TPS sensors part #89452-35030 from on overseas wholesale supplier. They should be here in five days or so. Let me know if you are still interested.

This is my first post onto this site. I have read all the posts at least twice about the hesitation problem because I had the same issue. My 2003 Tacoma (3.4L, V6) has 186,XXX miles and would hesitate during low rpm going slow or cruising at highway speed when I tried to accelerate slowly. It drove me crazy. Like many of you, I had the regular tuneup stuff done with plugs, new plug wires, etc and fuel filter. Problem still existed. I did get a check engine light about a week the tuneup which pointed to my oxygen sensor. I had the sensor changed and perhaps it was a tad bit better but I still had most of my hesitation. My check engine light eventually went off by itself but I still had the hesitation. I took it to AutoZone and they put the diagnostic to it and it did not show any codes. The guy there recommended that I do two things, put a bottle of injector cleaner in my tank which I had never done and also pulled the air hoses back and spray out the throttle chamber and linkage with carburetor cleaner. I did both and after I sprayed the throttle chamber out good, my hesitation was gone! I have since driven about 100 miles and it is still gone. I feel my problem has been solved. I hope this post helps some of you with your hesitation problem. Good luck.

the tps is your best bet. you can see it if you hook up a VOM. they're crappy little pc pot's ( cut your old one open and see for yourself). Toyota must have changed something on the production line to comply with whatever and instead of offering Americans the part for 60$, they said fu gi , u buy throttle body 450 doll. ha ha . All in all, i love my taco. Hope they dont find out about me

Hi... This my first post. I'm having the same hesitation problem. I've read all the post so far. They're all very informative. I tried Sea Foam yesterday. No improvement. I think the most likely problem is the throttle body either sticking or not responding. I looked at my throttle body today and just inside the butterfly valve there was a sticky oil residue. I know this because I stuck a rag in there and it came out with a considerable residue. I cleaned it with a spray-on throttle body cleaner and a rag. Since the valve opens electronically it may be sticking. The cable doesn't open the valve mechanically unless you floor it. I'll try it for a while to see if this helps

I just noticed this problem with my 03 Tacoma. ..and got out ran some road test changed soark plugs. .no change..but you all will be shocked to know its the a/c clutch turning off and on which makes it feel like u are losing power ...im not 100% but will charge mine up and see what happens....just open hood and watch the a/c clutch under throttling then turn it off and and do the same thing drive down the road with a/c on then do same with it off

I threw a code for the TPS finally. After I took off the TPS to change it out (w wrong part) and put it back on it run like a champ. For 2k miles! I have noticed some very slight power loss when running the a/c fan. I'm very curious about the correlation between these two parts. Anybody have ideas about this?

Did anyone ever get a TPS and it actually work? Saw several folks request them but they never posted back. Also saw where Markmmg removed all of his posts.

I got some parts from the same site Markmmg did. They ended up being the wrong parts. Since taking off the TPS my truck is running perfectly for over 2k miles. I'm hoping that there was some carbon buildup or something and it is all fixed. That being said, I'm still on the lookout for a TPS.

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.
I had to replace the whole TB Assy. about two years ago and solved all my problems. Mine got so bad I wouldn't let my kids ride with for fear of stalling out in front of a big truck or something. We also bypassed the coolant line as some were doing a few years back, not one hiccup since.

Also, we noted you couldn't even get the ame TB unit from Toyota anymore, and although this was the correct part, it was no longer the same design, subtle small changes according to my shop.

Ok, so since I started this thread, I ended up buying a USED throttle body from partsonnet.com for around $300. The dealer wanted $1200 for a new one. Both sensors were included on the one I got, which was warranteed for a year. It's now been a year(about) and my truck has run flawlessly through all seasons and conditions.

    Thanks for that.

Mine will run good for a while then start hesitating again. Had been running good until the other day. Started running rough again. Messed with intake tube looking for leaks, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, messed with TPS, and reset computer. Ran good until I turned it off and restarted it then went back to hesitating. I think the TPS is all it could be.

Now time to look at that website. Thanks.

Just make sure you're getting a fly by wire if you get the throttle body.

Guy stated that it was the throttle body for the 2003 v6 4wd. Should I have asked further? Figured there would be only one?

Well got a used throttle body from partsonnet.com yesterday. Swapped it in and my problem continues! Argghh.

Had some different issues than most but thought I would give it a try.

I am going to see if they will take it back but i doubt it. If anyone would like it I will sell it for $250 shipped. Include both sensors. I just paid $325 shipped to me. I cleaned it up pretty good. It was sent to me fairly dirty.

I am sure some may think I may be trying to sell my "bad" throttle body that I replaced the my "new" throttle body with. I can only give my word that this throttle body is the one that I received yesterday. I have not changed out the APPS or TPS on it. I can't think of another way to prove it.

PM me if interested. I am not interested in selling just the TPS unless you want to buy it for $250! Lol.
