Dis a search for 2.4L coolant and came up dry. I bought this truck back in June and was thinking of changing the antifreeze this weekend in preparation for winter. Here are my questions:

What's the preferred method for flushing the cooling system?

    What's the preferred antifreeze type?

How much antifreeze does it take?

    Thanks!

What color antifreeze do you have now?

Pink is the toyota coolant which doesn't mix with green coolant. I think there is a new off the shelf that will mix, however I have not heard of anyone trying it. If you really want to flush it you can purchase a flush kit at your local auto parts store. It installs in a heater line. Your garden hose hooks up to it to and it pushes the fluid out.

Just undo the bung at the bottom of the raidator, let it drain, then turn the water one. That's how I have done it in the past.

Ok great! I'll run by a toyota dealer for a gallon of the pink stuff. A 50/50 mix will give me 8 qts and I'll cheat and use straight water the last half qt.

I had one of those inline flushers and didn't like such a permanent fixture. I'll just flush without it.

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Brett
