I'm looking to replace and upgrade the headlights on my '04 crew cab 2WD Prerunner. Have cleaned/cleared the lenses before, but noticed while driving at night and in some rainy conditions, the original lamps are not very effective. Are there better LED lights out there that straight up replace the stock ones I have as an upgrade I've seen a few online that say you might have to cut the grill or other areas to install, but I'm not looking for anything custom. Just want to remove and replace the ones I have (with chrome trim). Any advice, links or help would be appreciated.

Are you wanting to replace bulbs, or housings?

Either way, I would check ebay or Amazon....

The entire housings. Thanks. I would like to have updated (more effective illumination) with clear lenses. I assume newer ones with LED is the route to take. I have ran across several online and specifically on Ebay, but many look to require some alterations for installation. I just want to remove and replace what I have.

You could always buy new housings and retrofit HID projectors into them. If you are going to switch to LED bulbs, pay close attention to reviews of the housings, becuase some manufacturers are better than others at designing reflective bowls. That will negatively effect your use of LED replacmemts.

I have yet to see any aftermarket manufacturer design entire housings for LEDs. In fact, most, if not all aftermarket custom designs are designed to be used with halogen bulbs. Best bet will be to either retrofit your current housings, or buy aftermarket housings and retrofit them. Either way, a retrofit is required for HID bulbs. The only good "cheap" option is to buy Philips X-treme Vision halogen bulbs. I put "cheap" in quotation marks because their lifespan is shorter.

When you see LED housings on ebay, they mean LED DRLs, halos, etc. Not headlight bulbs. If you see HID/Xenon, they mean they are using cheap HID kits in halogen reflectors/projectors.
