What's sarcasm, some sort of drivetrain component I presume? I haven't been working on cars long, is it like a ball joint?

Perhaps giving an O2 sensor the ol' WD40 bath would be a bit over the top, but if one is very careful, the nuts holding the sensor seat to the flange can be acetoned/ATFed and the sensor on the other side remains untouched. Haven't botched a sensor yet, but give me a few more years and perhaps I'll manage to destroy one:D

Well, that spun off wildly into some typical internet feces flinging.

-I thank you for some of the advice.

-I do have some proper tools and have done some mechanical work. I've done oil changes and parts replacement jobs. Replaced the window motor in my wife's Honda CRV, worked on my outboard motor etc. so I could do what's been described here.

-I am going to get a proper code to be certain I replace the right one.

    -Thanks!

Why not just spray the nuts with PB blaster? Isn't the sensor sealed from outside elements? :notsure:

That's what I did when I removed my old one. Put a new one on and no problems. Obviously don't spray it on the wires and stuff. Just the nuts. I'd also get a new sensor gasket too. Clean off the area before installing the new stuff.
