    Hello all-
This is my first post, and I have a general question. I own a ‘04 2WD PreRunner, 2.7L, all original except radio. I purchased new, it now has 82k, and has been pretty much best vehicle ever. I’m thinking about purchasing a new one, only for extras like nav, power windows, locks, etc. My question is, should I keep it or get a new one? It was built in Fremont, CA and I’ve been told these are some of the better Tacoma’s.IMG_0231.jpg

That's a REALLY clean truck OP, I think you'd be crazy to sell it.

    Welcome to TW!

    Looks crisp.

If it meets your needs, I'd keep it.

OE Nav stinks, so don't let that be a reason!

Keep it. If it was a V6 and a manual I would be calling you about selling it to me.

IF you are in Pinellas County I'd enjoy looking at it, even if you don't want to sell. Seriously.

Welcome aboard! 82K? Good frame? I think you should look around at what they're going for, the kind of mileages they have, and you will decide to keep it. 82K is VERY rare. If you decide otherwise, I'll take it off your hands. :p Mine has 87K, it will be my last vehicle.

If you really want those features, the wiring harnesses should already be there and with a bit of searching and wrenching you can add those yourself. Most first gen lux items should bolt right in.

Just make sure the lower ball joints have been swapped out with OEM ball joints, read around here for the why.

Thanks for the kind words, all! I will look into a couple of the suggestions, ball joints and plug in upgrades—good stuff. RE: the frame, underneath looks almost as good as the shiny side—always garaged, never off road. Thanks again to all who responded—appreciate it
