    Working on it....
    Good Morning,
Did some searching and I did not come across the particular answer I was looking for, so I figured I 'd ask.

I recently installed a Compustar Firstech 2-way remote starter with a cm900s brain.
On other vehicles I have installed the typical relay for the anti grind.. For some reason this one is kicking my a**.

    So the nitty gritty..

    Remote start is great..

Anti-Grind is this... 87a to key side, 85 to GND, 30 is constant 12v, then 86 I am confused on which wire to connect to , i thought it was one of the ignition wires (yellow / back or black / red)

what basically happens is in that config, the key will not work, which looks as though the circuit it open.. anyway, I am missing something obvious. If someone has done this, could I trouble you to post the wire colors you connected to?

Thanks for anything and have a great day!

Anti grind you want to interface to the vehicle starter wire (2004-black) using pins 87a and 87 or 30. If your using 30 on the start wire then 87 will go to 12v or vises versa . Assuming you bought the added relay kit as the newer units no longer come pre harnessed. 86 you can put to ign or 12v and 85 to the/a anti grind output off the unit (programable)

So....It is all set and working as it should. I admit to installer error!

I simply did not connect the ground from the relay to the Compustar CM900s module.

Lawfarin, your last sentence above turned the lightbulb on for me, Thanks.

    So if it helps anyone:

2004 Gen 1 Anti grind relay

Relay pin 30 to taco starter wire color BLACK key side
Relay pin 87a to taco starter wire color BLACK starter side
Relay pin 86 to taco ignition wire BLACK W/ RED STRIPE
Relay pin 85 to COMPUSTAR BRAIN anti grind output, in this case wire harness CN3 wire 4

Hopefully the diagram enclosed paints the clear picture.
