Check spark, fuel delivery, then air fuel metering.

Could be lots of things..... any codes?

Clean the throttle body and mass airflow sensor first.

My next check will be fuel pressure test. Any suggestions on wear to get tsp or aic sensors

I had a problem with what I called throttle lag. Sounds like what you may be seeing. The fix was simple turned out to be the TPS had a flat spot worn in the potentiometer and didnt cost anything to fix. With the engine off pump the throttle from no throttle to full throttle 100 times. It will wipe the TPS potentiometer clean. Here is a link

I don't have an issue, but a quick question. Do you have to have the ignition on with the engine off?

    Off

This procedure exercises the TPS pot, the concept is you normally run the engine most of the time in a narrow RPM range. So this wears a narrow spot on the poteniometer (sp) at this throttle position. The computer reads this position and does not recognize this throttle position. Moving the throttle 100 times (with engine off) smooths out the worn spot and the position can be recognized.

My truck was doing this at ~92,000 mi and I did the pumping the throttle (with the engine off ) and throttle lag stopped and I now have 133,000 with no repeat of the throttle lag
