Nice work. Was the rest solid? They have multiple potential weak points. My '01 went in the same spot.

The frame was not covered because owner did not have the dealer inspect and undercoat before the deadline?

    Nice job!

I did the same exact thing on my '98. Having the right tools and skills makes things much easier as well.

    Ben thanks

Chops the rest was solid so i did eastwood internal frame coating...no the previous owner did not meet the deadline, it came from marthas vineyard island no toyota dealers there so
she would have to put it on a ferry for inspection on the mainland and i guess it was too much trouble

Kirk yeah good tools and years of experience helps

That's very interesting. That is a harsh environment for this type of issue. Fortunately you had the knowhow to fix this.

I saw online somewhere they were selling frame reinforcements for those in a similar situation. Shaped to fit the various trouble spots, you just weld them in. If my '03 frame is going to go, I hope it does before the clock runs out in two years.
