    Scenario:
TacoMateo785 I am the father of a 19yr son that purchased an 2004 Tacoma in MAR 2019 (Totally blind and clueless to Frame issues) Taking it in for an Oil change we go the bad news. Frame is essentially toast.
1.) Is there any path forward with Toyota on Frame Recall for 2004 Tacoma? (Today Oct. 14, 2019)
2.) Are there any Frames still around from all the replacement work Toyota did? Where we could by the Frame, and some accompanying parts and do the work? (140K Miles-Body and Bed Wheels everything else is in really good shape)
3.) Any shops out there that specialize in this: Trustworthy, and not just looking to get the work in the door and uptick the price. But have a real conversation on how much it is going to take to get it safely operational?

    Any help and suggestions appreciated.

It's a slim shot but you might get lucky if you take it to your nearest Toyota dealer now and have them check the frame. The frame replacement program covers 15 years from the in-service date of the vehicle, so 2004 + 15 = 2019....you might get lucky if yours was deemed 'in service' later in the year. If you live in a 'cold climate' state as determined by Toyota then there are other criteria that have to be met, but take it in and see what they say.

Aside from that, there are replacement frame "patches" that can be welded on but they won't be as good as a new/un-rusted frame and depending on how bad it is, they might not be applicable at all

people keep asking where you bought it from because there might be recourse from the seller. Legit sellers can't sell an unsafe vehicle. If the seller disclosed and you got a super discount, thats another story.

Remember they all had to be inspected and coated by 2011(?) in the Cold Weather states to qualify for the extended warranty .

so many owners just tossed the letter from Toyota if they even got one at all.

Paying to have any frame rebuilding or replacement done can get very very expensive .

Any rebuilding will be much better then the original done by qualified people anyone can bubble gum steel on and call it good.

As used vehicle dealers can be just as clueless as buyers the OP might be able to work something out

I know of a few took back vehicles no questions others paid repair costs some worked out a deal of some sort.

Then you have As Is sorry !!
