    2004 Tacoma PreRunner 4-door
    Hi all,

    I have a new-to-me 2004 Tacoma PreRunner 4-door with 5 ft bed. I purchased a Rack-It Ladder Rack with Fork-liftable side bars. I haven't installed it yet.

I've also come to like the idea of a Tonneau cover. I quite like the BakFlip G2 trifold cover. That is still available for the 2004 truck for about $750+install. (fair deal, I think?)

the challenge is how to get them to both work together.

BakFlip makes something called the CS Rack. it looks flimsy and lame, honestly. The local dealer confirmed that it is a POS.

I'm thinking that I can install the BakFlip G2 and then create a modification of the Rack-It Ladder Rack to install it over the top of the BakFlip G2. I have a local Race-car Fabricator to help.

Am I crazy? Any words of advice are greatly appreciated...

    Welcome to TW Dave

go for it, if you have the help of a fabricator that will make things a lot smoother for you, and it should come out pretty nice. If you decide to go the custom route make sure you post up some pics or even start a build thread.
