Bought a set of running boards that reportedly fit my 2004, 1st generation Tacoma, double cab. The instructions provided are sketchy at best and I can't find any videos on youtube for 1st gen running board installation....there is one for a 1999 year but it is of no help. Anyone on here been through this exercise that might be able to lend some knowledge?

Yes...I don't see how any of the pre-drilled holes I can find line up with the brackets provided. I will post some pic's when I get the chance. Sorry. I know it isn't much info to go on. And I have found plenty of videos for 2nd generation Tacoma's...but really nothing on 1st gen.

Update, I spoke to the company I bought these from. Apparently, this install requires drilling of holes...which they provided self tapping screws. So it makes sense why I couldn't get the hardware to match up with anything. Shouldn't be a difficult install. I think I will video it for all prosperity and maybe post it for others to enjoy.....
