I haven't gotten them in yet, but I picked up a pair of JDM Subaru forester seats. They feel really good just sitting in them on the floor, and the mounting brackets are really close so it'll be a reasonable install.

I need to switch up the headlights in this truck. The previous owner just threw some led bulbs in it and one half burnt out, plus my lenses are showing their age so it’s going to get completely new housings and lights.

I’ve been researching upgrading the harness and putting in brighter bulbs but the projector retrofits look pretty easy to do and extremely good light output. I hate scattered light and would prefer a warmer color as I’m in the snow like 7 months of the year lol, but if led is the way I’m not opposed to it.

Does anyone have recommendations? I’m seeing LED and HID projectors, and so many different options for them it’s a bit overwhelming. I’d like some real world feedback on them - I’ve read on the forums and Facebook groups but I don’t care about halos or switchbacks, or anything along those lines… I just want performance/realiability. Also I’ll likely build them myself unless it’s cheaper/easier/faster to buy complete.

Super easy man. Bake at 220 (do one light at a time) and start separating. DO NOT PRY. Heat another 2 minutes if they don't want to separate. I bought a headlight separating tool. Looks like a flat head screwdriver. Make sure you lift the tabs before you start separating. Also, buy that headlight glue (Butyl) and better to go heavy, then remove the excess when you seal them back up. The projector install is the easiest part. Insert the projector and screw the nut on the back end. Then adjust the cutoff once you install them.

    Good luck man.

Thanks! Any recommendations on which projector/light to use?

I'm running Miramoto H1's 6K. Pretty good output! My 4runners are sick AF. but not sure what BXbuilt used when they built them. They been sitting in my spare room since one fell apart....... I need to get on it this weekend and fix them. LED's and ebay housings suck @$$

I’m still up in the air about lights. But I’ve been seeing this pop up for months so I decided to try. Tacked the steering shaft, and wow did it make a difference. Going to switch out the junky trail gear ujoints on my steering shaft and this thing should drive tight!IMG_2898.jpg

A little rattle. Mostly just have some minor complaints about the steering feel.

I did this and switched out the TG steering joints for Borgesons. Big difference, no longer had the inch side to side steering play.

Ordered some new headlight assemblies. Going to skip the retrofits and build myself an upgraded harness and use better halogen bulbs, makes more sense for me.

Also got some battery cable and lugs, going to relocate the battery to the bed and do a different air box so I can rebuild my inner fenders for uptravel.

Built a harness today, about $50 cad into it with quality connectors and weather sealed relays. Much better than $200+. Headlights and bulbs will be here tomorrow and I can finish this upgrade. I plugged the harness into my other Tacoma and even with faded lenses and cheap bulbs it was way brighter. Happy I went this way instead of retrofits. IMG_3049.jpg

New headlights and harness in, rebuilt the front driver inner fender, relocated the battery to the bed. Just need to order a cone filter and I can get to work on the passenger side inner fender, then see what more I can get for up travel! IMG_3082.jpg

It’s been a slow winter, but been out a few times. I’ve also had this red truck tucked away for a year now and finally getting the motivation to repair the frame, this one’s cooked. Planning to cut it in front of the back cab mount and back half it. Should make a good daily driver

Keep forgetting to update here, mostly using Instagram for updates.

Some more snow wheeling. Turned into complete hero/go anywhere snow this week after a good dump 2 weeks ago.

Also sold my steelies/trail grappler tire summer set up and placed an order on a new setup, can’t wait for that stuff to come in!

Weird conditions yesterday. Made it to the top of the mountain, haven’t been able to do this before in snow. 1922m/6305ft at the top, from 1100m/3600ft at home. IMG_3851.jpg
