Well, I don’t want to trash this guys thread up with back and forth bickering, so this is where I’ll retire. However, I will always advocate for people to learn to do things the manual/no safety system way in addition to learning automation so we can continue to have skilled versatile people on the road, in the air, and anywhere else I’m qualified to have an experience based opinion on.

Do you feel the federal Government should mandate Reto fitting of ABS brakes to all street legal vehicles in the United States at the consumers expense ?

All vehicles having ABS brakes that now have obsolete parts can no longer be driven on the street??

My 98 did not have ABS.
    My 04 has it.

I felt much more secure driving the 98 in sketchy road conditions. If my ABS went out tomorrow, I would lose no sleep being without it.

I'm sure he says it drives perfectly fine. He's trying to sell it to you.

Have you verified this for yourself?

You can run the vin, or just look for the factory locker on the rear axle. ALL TRDs (esp 2004's) had lockers. There were some earlier models that didn't but the 2004 would have a locker.

Double cabs had tokikos, and the extracabs and reg cabs had bilsteins. But don't worry about the shocks, if they're still factory originals, they are 100% worn out and should be replaced anyway.

It is a 16 year old truck. It's not gonna be without a few issues.
