How are the Tacoma's prices compared to the 4Runner's? I have a 2004 Tacoma that I'm going to sell only because I bought a 2019 Tacoma and I really love it. My 2004 Taco is a 4x4 4 door red in color with 267,000 miles on it. It has been wrecked on the left side with the front fender and door replaced and the whole truck was painted. I wasn't aware of the frame issues these trucks had but this truck has no rust as I live in N.E. Arkansas and our winters are mild here. My question is how much should I ask for this truck, I put a new set of Toyo AT III's on it and timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, lower ball joints and rear brakes. This truck runs and shifts perfect. Any advise is appreciated, thanks again.

I looked for a first gen. Tacoma for the past 2-3 months until I found my ‘99. Trucks like yours were on the market for $10-13K.

Prices are pretty specific to the region, and rust free is good.

I'd do a lot of local shopping and see what things similar to yours are asking/selling for at dealers, buy here pay here lots, Clist, etc.

Keep in mind that your mileage will be a deterrent to lots of buyers. Enthusiasts or folks with low budgets will be your biggest potential buyers.

The more documented maintenance history you can provide the better you'll do.

    Good luck.

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It seems crazy to me that anyone would pay $10-13K for a repainted truck with high miles.

    Good luck.

I agree. Don’t know if the ones I saw sold or not, but $10-13K is what the sellers were asking. Heck, there were salvage title trucks advertised for that much.

Mine is an '03, here is my gamble: Maintain it, keep it garaged, don't put more miles on it, keep it for another 5-10 years and ask the same question. Something tells me the longer a good running Taco stays that way the higher the value will climb. My plan anyway.

There is a 300K club on here somewhere, some people talk (joke ?) about "just broken in" at 300K, for most cars it is high but these trucks seem to go forever. An interested party would likely think that.
