I do not want to scrap the engine. If anyone wants it, I live in Aberdeen WA 98520. There must be parts that are still good. I want the whole thing gone. Number 4 rod came apart and went through the block. I will give it to TW member for free. You just have to come get it and take the whole thing. pm me and and I will get back to you as soon as I can.DSC00315.jpg DSC00316.jpg

One of the many possible benefits of running an engine 37,000 miles without an oil change or checking the oil.

    Yeah this a 4.0l from a 2005+ Tacoma, a 2004 would be a 3.4l. Title says 2004 but he mustve meant 2005.

Did the previous owner run it that long without an oil change?

This makes me worry about my knock that I can't find that's near the engine bay.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
    Wow.

An older gentleman who owns a small family oil drilling outfit here ran a 2006 42,000 on the original oil before it popped. He was getting a little absent minded at his age, and the rest of the family didn't make sure he was having vehicle maintenance done. I was pretty impressed it went that long, honestly.

The last oil change was done on 7 2015 with 178,000 miles. I found a receipt for fast food with the date from july of 2017. . The engine rod came through the block at 214,600 miles. The person I got it from said they ran it out of oil. I assume from the condition of the engine, the oil was not changed or checked during that time. So the rig sat around a year and a half before I got it. The rig was not beat, just neglected. It has some scrapes and scratches. Now that I have it running, It drives real nice. It is real smooth. Does not pull everything is real tight.

Has heads, power steering pump, valve covers, oil pan, engine mounts, clutch fan to name a few. I really do not want to break it down and keep the parts forever in my garage.

If you do break it down, id take the cams, but need to get shipped. Don't worry about scratches or anything. Id be using parts for art.

Hell I might even pay for greyhound shipping of the block to east coast.
