I've never heard of anyone calling a cupholder "worthless", prob not the best term to use for something that perfectly holds beverages and miscellaneous tools, keys, pens, phones etc... I've had my 05 Tacoma since Nov 2004 and love the cup holders. One is the perfect size for cans, the others are perfect for Gatorade/ Powerade bottles.. I think Toyota did a good job on these but if you're looking for something that might actually be "worthless" you could grab a dremel tool and fit a tray in there.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2011-T...d=100005&prg=1088&rk=3&rkt=4&sd=230707687114&

Agreed, these are better than the ones in my '95, my FJ-40s or any of the other vehicles I've had. The can holder usually has my change, Carmex, SD cards for the stereo, etc in it.

How much storage do you need lol. I have so much shit in the center console and I'm not even close to filling it up yet.

I'd rather have lidded storage for a Glock 21 or other fullsize firearm. Maybe a room for an iPad or other tablet, something more useful than cup holders.

Like you have said yourself, there isn't anything commercially available. Just make something up yourself.

People have very easily turned the center console into a lockable storage bin for firearms.

Personally, I find all 13 cup holders to be quite useful. I keep misc items in the rear doors (toiler paper, PPE, etc). Water bottles in the front doors. The little can size one is my garbage bin.

    Speaking of Cupholders.
Does anybody know of any kind of rubber mating to put in the bottom of the cupholders?
The little center storage tray in the back of my access cab has the perfect material for keeping things from rattling around. The front cupholders rattle like a banshee whenever anything hard is in them.

If you get a rubber sink drain cover mat you can cut it to fit. Otherwise, I'd pull the cupholders out (gently pull stright up), grab a can of PlastiDip from Home Depot, mask off the top silver part and spray the individual black cupholders.
