Thank you Brandon @kumz for trying this and testing it out!
Thank you also to @Littles @weldo @deeezy @58 Siesta @Adventurous @SMKYTXN @ROK-NJA for adding your constructive criticism, it was cool that this was 3 pages of discussion in 3 days. My goal is to make the best products available on the market. You have been heard and I am willing to add holes that help owners with OME Dakars. These springs are considerably shorter than other brands, I wonder if the Dakar packs were designed for the HiLux outside of NA?

Deaver spring packs #u402 and #j66, and All-pro packs already can achieve ~45 degree shackle angle with current foremost position because they are the right length.

I think KUMZ did a really good job with where he added holes and made sure he bolted through the crossmember so I will just add holes similar to what he did. However, I am kinda feeling it should be 1", but I will listen to opinions whether it should be 1.125 or 1.25"
These holes will be added to next batch which I am about to start and should be available to order around August 1st. I will also add the option on my site to add (4) extra frame bolts to use with the Dakars for $10.

While I'm announcing stuff about adjustment, Archive shock relocation brackets are in development!! It will have all the quality of Archive products and raise the bar for what's currently available.

This pic shows where I intend to add another front hole to tie in crossmember, but you will still match drill thru foremost bottom hole for strength. I will possibly add a rear hole to to clear crossmember if the current doesn't clear, and then you'll also have another bolt at the rear that is just for frame to crossmember, just like KUMZ did.
    SFK-005rev4a_afb0fb649b7fd44e58b69c3f4e4329c0f53b0b64.jpg

This shows a rear upper 1/2" hole to be added to clear crossmember, you will match drill thru new hole in bracket into the frame. For strength reasons, I will not add a 3rd front hole, you just match drill thru the foremost hole like Brandon did, this way no additional stress will result on frame or brackets
    SFK-005rev4b_121bf6498d0fc67d85df8b95d7aad9dedbff718c.jpg

and here is a pic of how the frame looks inside near rear bolts, looking at passenger side. The red dot is close to where new rearmost upper hole would land.

IMHO, I would go with 1" on the new holes, which is what I was shooting for originally. You probably will need to add that lower hole to clear the cross member...I match drilled through existing one and was almost flush against the cross-member, but was able to bend it out of the way with pliers to get the washer and nut on.

Thank you Bryan for the feedback, and you're right, I forgot about the webbing welded in the crossmember. The 2016 crossmembers do not have that webbing.

@ARCHIVE , is the shock relocation you're designing going to be outboard in the fenders like the current kits are now? If so, will wheel spacers be needed for shock clearance? ( And good job on the shackle bracket redesign.)

Thank you. Yes, my design is outboard, but will be kept as close to bed side as possible. However, it will be designed to fit atleast 2.5" shocks, maybe 3.0", so it's going to require low offset wheels or spacers, figure 1".
The adjustable upper mounts will be to work with spring over, spring under, 12" travel. -14" travel. Spring under allows a couple more inches of uptravel.

Nice. I was about to pull the trigger on these, but some unforeseen things came up in my solid axle conversion, so I had to throw more money at that first. I'm looking to do longer shocks in the rear too, so this might work out well. Great stuff!

Got my archive shackles mounted up. This is on a stock tsb leaf pack with it in the rear position for more lift. I do have an aftermarket steel bumber and a toolbox in the bed, so it looks like I will need to move it to the forward position and get an add a leaf or something. Still need to get shocks and longer brake lines, so I will not be flexing it at all yet. Definitely rides better in the rear now. Thanks Eric.

Thanks Jeff for your order and posting results with Toyota springs, that angle looks to be about 22 deg now, bet it would be 35-40 deg in foremost position.
And you sure put those on fast, nice work!

Its much eaiser when you have a high clearance bumper to drill out the rivets or in my case i just used the plasma cutter

Yes it was definitely a lot easier as I was doing the bumper and shackles at the same time so I had a lot more room to work with. I think I got an inch of lift since the extra weight I have. Now it is time to start looking for an add a leaf or new leaf pack that only gives an inch or so.

I'm moderately impressed with the TSB 3+1 springs, considerably better than the old ones. I would recommend a mild add a leaf if you only want 1" more or I do have 6" plain steel shackles to offer now. Not exactly sure of affect on pinion angle, might end up with 5 total degrees instead of ~3

I'm also thinking of offering 5" stainless shackles, opinions anyone? I think it would go good with over 30 degrees of shackle angle

I run a 5" shackle and it works great with a relocate. Not many options out there for it, so id say yes but make it a greasable one.

Any news? I want to redo my rear suspension soon and really want to use Dakars because unlike the Expos they are adjustable with add a leafs, 5 mm trim packers, or the removal of the second overload. When your revision is ready I'm ready to order.
