Just going to test these hanger out and see how they do with SOA. Eric says it should outperform the shackle flip too. Goal is to be SUA one day though

Well, taken me awhile to get around to typing this up but thought I'd throw a little review up for Eric's shock relocate for the tacomas.

I was part of the original batch made about 6 months ago so had plenty of time to test it out. It's been combined with two different front suspensions and been through quite a variety of conditions. As the setup currently sits however, the rear is the shock relocate with 14" King adjustable resis and a modified OME Dakar pack also with Archive shackle flip paired to a baja kits LT front.

Concerning the install I personally did not do it. With the amount of welding required for the towers and the mount tabs I had a shop do it that does fab work. According to them install was very straightforward and everything lined up perfectly. I also had them go ahead and do the bed crossbar for support or which they did a chromoly bar with heim ends to allow the mounts to flex with the frame. The only figment issue I ran into was actually a hair of rubbing of the shocks on tires. When the rear flexes out the tires rub the shocks slightly. Something to watch for... I have SCS Stealth 6's 17x9 with -10BS and 285/70/R17 for reference.

The performance has been exceptional so far. Mounts haven't budged and have taken some serious abuse both through prerunning and crawling and general abuse. Haven't fully gotten to get the use of the extended shocks yet as I'm waiting on the money to go to deavers and my leaf pack is limiting currently but I did gain travel already from stock location shocks and am very impressed. Between this and the shackle flip the amount of increased travel and gained droop is more than noticeable. Unfortunately haven't taken measurements for before and after but it is quite a bit even with the current leaves.

Very happy with all of Eric's products I have and he has been super helpful answering questions and helping decide on variations of his products. Would recommend him to anyone. Looking to get some more of his stuff here soon.

Wish I had pictures right now but yet again... Much better at getting stuff on and using it than taking pictures and measurements. Will try to update this post here soon with some though of the flex and the whole setup. Hope this helps anyone on the fence.

    Thanks again Eric!

    Adam,

Thanks for your support with orders and posting your experience here. I'm glad you got some time on the setup.

I'm working on a custom leaf pack focused on increasing suspension travel for spring over, testing starts very soon.

    Eric

    @ARCHIVE

Can you help me out on shock selection to use with a Dakar 7 leaf cso47 and your flip?

    17 dcsb
I'm on the east coast so it's slow rock crawling type wheeling.

I'm basically looking for a suggestion on collapsed and extended length.

    Thanks

See post #1241, Mark used Bilstein B110s which are 16.3" compressed and 27" extended. Stock axle shock mounts need to be clearanced as Tommygun Fab did a great job cycling the suspension and found that issue that I've never seen mentioned before, so I was impressed.

Just an observation after I did custom length bolt in Kings.

Bilstein measures from eye to where the bushing washer sits.
King measures from eye to middle of bushing sandwich. (Where it actually should be measured)

B110 Bilsteins in King measurements are about 27.75/16.75 for approx 0.5" more length when factoring in washer and bushing.

I’m thinking about going with your shackle flip kit. Will it work with the Alcan leafs which are providing me with 4” of lift?

Yes, it works with Alcans. Have you checked to see if the springs are rubbing the stock shackles now? Alcan makes em quite long.
You'll want to keep these brackets using the rearmost position (factory 4 rivet holes).

I’ll check here shortly but I believe they are not rubbing no.

I added a picture to my post above for reference. Either way, the shackle flip does not have that issue

I’ll have to look at mine a little closer. Looks similar to mine I think. If I go with the flip and it doesn’t work out I could always just go with the upgraded shackle hangers right?

That's correct. The shackle flip has been working well on a couple trucks with Alcans, and I did post pics in this thread way back
