Hey Eric, I'm upgrading my leaf springs from dakars to alcans this weekend and wanted to confirm with you based on the above post that for 45 degrees I want to move my hangers to the middle position on the hanger with factory rivet holes, correct?

Yeah that is correct. What I call the "middle" in that post is really what I refer to as the "foremost position" using factory rivet holes.
If the foremost position lays down the shackle too much, you always have the option of rearmost position.

That said, I dont know conditions that the picture is from, what load, etc.
I do know Alcans are too long for a stock hanger/shackle since they rub the shackle.

will the shackle flip work with OME Dakars and nitrochargers? I will be purchasing a 14" shock relocation kit in the future

Yes, that works with Dakars and OME shocks

Why is this considering a bad option for a stock truck if the 1st gens and Hilux's came / come this way stock?

It's not bad, but it does have some compromises that Archive Garage Hammer hangers do not. One compromise on 2nd/3rd gens is the leaf spring will go further into negative arch at full bump height (Stock 6-lug leaves are negative from factory)

I personally experienced both back to back on my DCSB with stock springs, and the Hammer hangers gave a better ride quality, better handling and chassis composure without the significant lift.
Hammer hangers also handle heavy loads better. Some of these details were unknown to me before I designed, built and tested the first set of Archive Hammer hangers.
The Hammer hangers have nothing but positive changes for your truck, there are no compromises

My sas swapped 2nd gen needs a shackle flip. Could use an extra 1.5" lift in the rear on my 2 year old Allpro Expedition leaf pack.

Get Hammer hangers is my recommendation, the STD AP springs are ultra weak, the expos are too weak but better

Found some third party! Installed this weekend. Excited to check them out. What kind of angle should I looking for at full droop?? Have a set of AllPro Expo currently, 3 years old and about 30k miles.

That looks pretty good on angle to me, possibly around 30deg. That's the best for weight, but if the truck is light and you are focusing on crawling, you would be able to move brackets forward to get 45 deg angle

Thanks! Run he bed weighted most of the year. Topper, fridge, 35" spare, camping/ski/mtb gear. I would like for the support of weight but also ride nice in the rocks.

Was this placement of the mounting plate on the stock holes? I've got an allpro standard pack that's getting tired, and I'm looking into this flip to help get some lift back/ride quality.
    Thanks in advance!!

That is the rearmost position using stock holes. All Pro are wet noodles, there isn't a way to "fix" that, they are made too little arch for how thin the leaves are.
I recommend selling the leaf pack and looking at Dobinsons 110 or 111, and getting Hammer hangers. Or keep the AP and get Hammer hangers for better ride quality (but no lift)

That plug specifically for Dobinsons? That price tag isn't bad at all, just curious. End goal, want to have your relocated shock towers, hammer hangers or flip kit, and 12" or 14" smoothies and a fresh leaf pack. Still recommend Dobinsons for that? Very glad to have your input!
    Thanks!!

Thought I would revive this thread. Icon rxt option 1, 2.5” lift over stock measured from the axle tube, 49° shackle angle, hangers in the foremost position (drilled 4 new holes per side).

With archive trail relocate and 12” kings, the shackle is almost vertical at full droop but not quite. Overall I’m very happy with the kit, though it took a little tweaking with hanger placement to get it where I wanted.
