2005 4x4 tacoma TRansfer case Neutral

    Does anyone know how I can put my tacoma 4x4 transfer case in neutral or if it can even be done so I can pull it behind my rv help:(

    It should be outlined in the owners manual.

    It's not in the manual?

    Please I didn't need a answer so smiple as LOOK IN THE MANUAL, that is a no brainer....

    Does anyone have any inside info how to put the Taco in Neutral transfer case???

    uhm i think in the manual that you cant tow it with 2 wheels on the ground. all 4 have to be off the road

    there has to be some way in putting this taco transfer case in neutral???
    If not it was a major mistake on Toys :mad:

    dont take my word on this i glanced at that section a few months ago when i got the truck

    I don't believe it can be done. Another downside of the electronic transfer case...

    From everything I've read if you're gonna tow it, disconnect the driveshaft.

    If it's like the 2007's, then it cannot be done without a modification that basically involves running a cable through to the transfer case that essentially manually puts it in neutral or disconnects the drive shaft(s) (as was said earlier, a downside of the electronic transfer case). This is why my dad bought a Dodge Ram to tow behind his RV because it had a "N" on the selector and could be put into neutral for towing electronically (as opposed to ours which does/can not). My dad thought about buying a Taco when I bought mine, but he asked this exact question and was referred to the service bay where the lead tech there told him that without modification (as outlined briefly above) you could not tow a Tacoma behind an RV.

    Sucks, but that's what I've heard about it.
