    Suspension porn. :woot:

Not sure if you mentioned it earlier, but what pipe or tubing is used for you steering/panhard links? I am trying to figured nail down some good quality material and sizes for either a panhard bar or watts link for the rear axle.

Nope, carbon steel. In this wall thickness its AISI 1026 steel. Meets ASTM A513 Type 5 specs :D

Chromo is a bitch to work with...aint nobody got time for that. Plus I only have mig and dont want to venture into tig.

Only sleeving the center 24" of the lowers to 1/2" wall, sleeving the whole thing would be a waste of material and extra weight. Make it stronger where the max bending moment is. Should be strong enough, lol

How did your venture into AL with your spoolgun go?

Drilling a 1/4" hole through the center of the outer portion of my lower link. Mark the center of the inner portion in the middle. Slide into outer until you can see the center mark in the 1/4" hole. Plug weld the holes fixing the inner into the outer :D

Never messed with aluminum, that's why I was curious. When I do its not going to be with a spool gun either; to pricey for my blood, my money goes to truck parts:D

Post SAC I won't need said truck parts anymore, but I will need 40's. These 37's are looking kind of small, its a good thing I shaved that front 60 after all.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Have you sleeved the links yet? I say that because my 1.5" and 2" were so close to the same size I could not sleeve the 1.5 into the 2" without turning the 1.5" on the lathe or press the 1.5" into the 2" with a press.

I'm so happy. I keep pretending it's my truck and I get through another week. What are you shooting for for frame height?

25"ish although only time will tell. I was off by one inch where I wanted the axle to be at at full bump to where I can actually have it so depends what I do about that inch...either sacrifice it and only have 4" up instead of 5" or keep 5" of uptravel and sacrifice an inch of ride height

Well once again I had an extra set of hands available to me (Eric) so we decided to tackle a big hurdle...shock hoops. These would have been soooooo much easier had I had 2.0 coilovers but I got 2.5's :D

Some tubes are left long and will be trimmed...others will get a crossbar tied into them. Be patient.

Anyway drivers hoop was a bitch working around the steering shaft, master cylinder, etc. Moved things several times before finalizing the location. Everything is just tacked and will be gusseted etc.

Need to do some more trimming and extend some wiring to the fusebox still too.

    Tight quarters:

    P1000159_zpsa7cfafca_3a31aae36c33f32ea52ceb4bfa30b66b0ed7098b.jpg

Passenger side was a PITA as well. I didn't care what the hoop looked like as long as the upper mount for the shock was symmetrical with the drivers side.

Due to the lateral shift caused by the panhard (which had to be shortened 2" to clear the shock) the frame had to be notched pretty good amount. So we plated the inside with 1/4" while we had it open.

Axle hanging on its own. Panhard isn't perfect because we shortened it 2" and I couldn't make the bracket taller to compensate and I don't feel like buying a new one. If the bumpsteer it causes is noticeable I can change it later. The panhard and DL are parallel at ride height.
