    Hello guys,
My Tachometer (RPM Gauge) is going in and out. Usually when the engine is cold the tach works fine, but if I fire it back on and the engine is at or around running temp it doesn't work.
The engine seems to be running fine, I have made no electrical modifications, no cluster mods, haven't even touched it. I did take it in about a month ago for a spiral cable recall, so maybe they accidentally messed something up?

Could you guys give me a place to start looking, fuse maybe? Or something else? Thanks.

Looking at the 2006 service manual the Tach Signal comes from the ECM ( engine Control Module ). Black wire with a white stripe is the Tach Wire from the ECU to the Combination meter IAW the prints. This Black wire with a white stripe also taps off and goes to the Data Link Connector before it goes to the Combination meter.

A real easy way to see if the issue is in the ECM or Harness or the Combination Tach itself is to get a Scan Tool that will read live RPM Data. If it reads on the Scan Tool and NOT the Tach then you have more than likely a problem with the connector at the Combination meter or the Tach itself is broken. If the Scan Tool doesn't show RPM nor does the Tach then it is an ECM or Wiring issue.

Data Link Connector <_____________Black Wire w/White stripe__________________________< Engine Control Module (ECU)
    Combination Meter <_______________|

    I hope this makes sense.

Yeah, that does make some sense to me. I'll see if I can find someone with this scan tool and go from there. Thanks for your response! Have a good weekend.
