Today my truck wouldn't start. I turned the key, heard a click, and then nothing. I mean really nothing. Sounds like dead battery right? When I tried again the instrument lights would come come on , flicker and go off. Zero action at the ignition - no lights, horn, nothing. Sounds like dead battery right? Tried a jumper cable start - click - nothing. Finally, I took off the battery cables and noticed that the positive cable was quite warm. Maybe something electrically engaged. After replacing the cables she started just like nothing had happened. Now, I wonder what could have caused this and could it happen again.
    Anybody had this experience?

This tells the entire story. The connection was loose causing a high resistance connection this is what caused the heat and expended the available energy that the battery was providing. When you reinstalled the connector it made a better connection.
