2005 tacoma 2wd tires

Hello everyone I just bought me a 2005 tacoma access cab 2wd 4cyl auto. I dont really like the stock wheels that are on it. I have been looking at dick cepek wheels. what size rim do you recommend and whats the biggest tire i can fit with out causing problems or a drastic decrease in gas mileage. Rim size isnt really important to me just performance.

 

5 lug?

IMO, check your speedo. If it's like all the others, you are off about 3 mph at 60 mph. So, if you get a 225-70 x 15, it will be just tall enough to correct the speedo. And that's about all you want. I went to 265-70 x 17s on my Prerunner, and the speedo/odo are now correct, but my mpgs did not improve and it was noticable as far as overall "gearing".

Otherwise, you can fit up to 31-10.50s x 15s on that truck iirc from other posts here.

 

For a 5 lug I believe the biggest you can go without a lift is 235/75/15 or he equivalent width and diameter in another size rim.

31x10.5 with a lifted 5 lug.
