Okay so I took my truck to the dealership today to get the spiral cable replacement recall and I got a quote on a new clutch while I was there. The dealership quoted me $1647 to replace the clutch and bearings plus send the flywheel off to get refinished. Is it just me or does this seem like a ridicules sum of money to pay for a new clutch plus labor?

You have to remember, that they are charging you for factory replacement parts and dealer hourly labor costs. It's always going to be higher at a dealer.

If you get quality aftermarket parts, and have a shop that you like or yourself and some buddies to do the work, it will be way cheaper.
