Check engine light came on. Upon acceleration my 2005 tacoma is bogging out. Codes being thrown are p0171 bank 1 system too lean, p0174 bank 2 system too lean, p0300 multiple misfires. Is it the MAF, TPS? Do I need to get the fuel injectors cleaned or replace fuel pump? How do I go about fixing this? It seems like the fuel is not getting injected properly

Symptoms your describing matches a bad MAF sensor; clean it and see how it does; if that doesnt improve it; get a multi-meter and test the resistance and see if its within spec; if not replace it(Not sure what spec it should be in; may have to do some searching)

TPS sensor is built into the throttle body and with these new Drive by Wire throttle bodies(No more throttle cable) It doesn't seem possible to replace TPS sensors; may have to spend big bucks on a replacement throttle body.

I agree with the above, also check for a vacuum leak.

Take the engine cover off and it's just after the air filter. Fuel system cleaning doesn't really work, just toss a half can of seafoam in your tank.

Seafoam in the tank isn't as bad; just use it as directed; I use seafoam over fuel injector cleaner and have no ill effects; however for a newer lower mileage vehicle I don't recommend the sucking it into your air intake tubing ordeal; however it isn't harmful if done right. Just use the brake booster hose(I wouldn't do it before the MAF Sensor), but I find this technique kind of wasteful spendings if your engine is healthy as it doesn't clean much, just a little.

As for the location of the MAF sensor; its mounted on with 2 phillips screws, look at the big plastic engine cover; there should be a square hole on the bottom left corner; right underneath it is the plug that plugs into the MAF sensor; remove the plastic cover with 2 10mm bolts that holds it in place then lift up and pull towards you as the rear has a slip in latch; should come right off.

This fault can also be thrown by having an air leak in the air intake manifold or a vaccum leak. Listen carefully and see if you can hear anything; although its very hard to tell. Older cars I would just spray starter fluid on areas over the vaccum hoses and air intake manifold; if the engine would rev up then I know I got a vaccum leak.

These trucks have plastic intake manifolds that uses an 0-ring style gasket; overtime this gasket will harden and cause leaks; this will throw code P01071 too from my experience.

Did you unplug the battery for a minute or two to reset the check engine light?

Make sure that you cleaned it correctly; So the MAF sensor has the IAT(Intake Air Temp) sensor also built into it; When you take it off if you look directly down into the hole on the sensor you'll see 2 little diodes looking thing inside it; those are the ones you want to clean; just spray until they are clean; don't touch them with your fingers or anything at all besides the cleaner spray. The funny looking thing on the outside of the sensor inbetween the plastic pieces is the IAT sensor.

Yeah I sprayed those two little diodes and did not touch them or anything. I also keep getting a vibration noise seemly from my passenger side near the air box, any idea what could be causing this?
