I've had frame rust on my 2005 Tacoma for quite some time. The cross member by radiator is almost gone. I had asked the dealer a few years ago about it and there was nothing they would do. A few weeks ago I was at the parts department and noticed a new frame on the side of the building and asked about it. Found out there was a extended warranty notice sent out and was told I should be getting one since my truck's VIN fell into the ones being covered. Made an appointment for inspection, which was today. It looks like I am getting a new frame. It will take about 2-3 months for the frame to be shipped to the dealer and after receiving it, about two weeks to do the transfer of my truck to the new frame. They will provide a loaner. The frame kit includes more than just the frame including rear springs, brake lines and other stuff. Also from what I read many parts that are not covered but that I want replaced, they will not charge labor since they need to be moved from the old frame to the new frame. I am pretty happy Toyota is doing this and from what I read people feel like their trucks drive like new after the frame replacement kit. We'll see.
