2005 tacoma rear end load poping noises

    8" suspension lift
    ok so i pulled my buddy out in 4wd when he was stuck last night and when i put my truck back in 2wd there is a loud and i mean LOUD pop noise and grinding. about every 20ft traveled it pops and grinds. i put it back in 4wd thinking it might not have fully engaged into 2wd and it still pops. i imagine my rear end is toast? something is seriously wrong and i cant drive it. has anyone had something similar to this happen thanks.

    Sounds like a rear ring gear. Did you jerk him out or pull him out?
