They get frail as they age due to heat. Had to replace mine a few weeks ago, very difficult with the coolant line in the way, since heads are off you can remove the coolant line for easy replacement.

*just saw that both heads are back on, disregard.

I can easily take the crossover tube off and replace this wiring harness if it really is that big of an issue. Do you have the part number?

Never a good sign when you have to break out the tap. However, I cleaned up the threads on this bearing cap and got them all torqued down to 80 inch pounds successfully

I’m sure that wasn’t a fun moment when you realized you needed the tap.

looks like it is coming right along.

The whole job hasn't been that fun lol. I am used to saying this is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Hopefully once this is done I can drive her for a few hundred thousand more without doing much else other than the usual, oil, etc.

Anyone have any idea what these two washers may go to? They are on the bench don't know if they came off the bimmer or not. They are about 3/4 of an inch wide and almost 1/4 of an inch thick.

Those don't ring a bell for me, but I've never had the heads off. @Torspd might recognize them.

Also, looking for this little 10mm bolt's home. I had it in a zip loc bag labeled water cross-over tube. However I think I've used up all those bolts? I wonder if it got tossed in by mistake as I did have my wife helping me bag and tag the bolts. Any ideas anyone? The help is much appreciated as I don't enjoy having leftover parts :p

Quit working at midnight. I have to either make a fixture to hold the crank or buy the tool and I also need torque wrench that can go up to 200 ft lbs.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
Can't remember if the exhaust cam gears had washers on the bolts when a swapped those out... Maybe that's where they reside?

Nah, I didn't take the gears off the cams as all the videos I watched online didn't require it. I'm thinking it's for my e30.

Got the wiring harness on with no issues! Still couldn't find out where that bolt went!

I fabricated a fixture tool. Pardon me and my friend's welds. We were having some issues with the welder and neither of us haven't welded in a very long time. I promise the welds on the back look a little better :p Anyways, the tool worked perfectly and the crank bolt was torqued to specs.

Got 50 miles on her! So far so good! I discovered I have to replace the bolts on my driver side catalytic converter heat shield as they had completely rusted off
