2005 TT Prerunner

    2005 tacoma prerunner 2wd
    Hi All.

    I am new here. I have a Toyota Tacoma, prerunner 2005. When I first bought it. It had 145 miles. I had no major problems with it. This truck took me everywhere and to many of my DH racing days . But like all things that come to an end. She has over 338k miles the head gaskets are now leaking but I am not the type to give up. I want to repair these heads and new gaskets. Any advice on tearing it apart and putting back together, as well what gaskets I will be needing?

    Your best off to just replace the motor with a jasper engine. With that many miles ( i know it can go longer) its probably cost effective to drop in a new motor or a used low mileage one from a wrecking yard.

    6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
    I second the jasper engine. 3 year unlimited miles warranty!! Never had a bad one and I’ve probably swapped 40+ engines with jasper engines.

    Plenty of details on this forum about the tear down, and parts/procedures necessary. As they said though, it all comes down to price/time/capability.
