2005 vs 2012 Intake 4.0 help?

I am looking at an inexpensive ($25 vs the original $400) air raid intake system off of a 2012.
Will it work on my 2005?

 

I can’t say for sure, but I know the intakes remained largely unchanged on the Tacoma 4.0.

 

I was wondering if it just had an extra fitting or something along those lines for smog
I might just pull the trigger and if it doesn’t work I might have a 2012+ intake for sale shortly

 

'12+ have the air injection pump. Not sure how that may effects things.

 

Does that draw anything from the intake

 

No it does not.

 

I don't think so. I believe it pumps air into the exhaust during startup. I've not really looked to see if there's any plumbing to the intake.

 

You can use any intake 05-15 for the Tacoma. They are all made the same.

And be happy you don't have the stupid secondary air injection pump. What a waste. I just bypassed mine, so it doesn't run and can't fail - and can't cost me $2000.

 

I've been following that thread sometime. How did you end up bypassing yours anyways?

 

I used the @slyfox75 kit. Easy install and cheap insurance.
