it seems my A/C is always on. The A/C light turns on and off when I press the A/C button. Even when I turn the temperature knob to 12 position, between cold and hot, it still seems to blow cold air, unless in active red zone heat. I swapped out the relay with no change in symptom.

With the engine running, have a helper push the AC button on, while you watch the compressor clutch. Then have the helper turn the AC off. Does the center part of the clutch stop turning?
edit: make sure the control is not set to defrost.
