Hey guys, I bought a 2010 Tacoma V6 auto 4x4 recently with zero history, auction deal. All seems good but the tach was lazy. Below 0 off, 0 rpm at idle etc. pulled the cluster and wound needle up so it's pretty right. Noted the cluster # 83800-04D10 which is for 06 V6 auto without traction control. Wouldn't you know, my traction control doesn't work. Anyone ever seen this?

Welcome to Tacoland. Sorry I don’t have an answer for you. Someone should be along soon.

The mileage is stored on the cluster.
Unless someone physically soldered into the EPROM and changed the mileage, it's not correct for your truck.

As for traction control, I'd have to take a look at the diagrams.
The wheels speed sensors and ABS module do go through the cluster. But I don't think the cluster would cause the traction control to not work.
    I'd have to compare diagrams.

@Dm93 might know. He knows stuff like this about these trucks.

Just glancing over the diagrams the pinouts appear to be the same although wire colors are different.

Not sure what you mean by the traction control doesn't work? If you have a check engine light on traction control is disabled on Toyota.

What warning light(s) do you have on?

Hi, there's no warning lights on. There's no light in the cluster for traction control so I really don't know if it's on or off

I see the VSC Off light is in pin #37 on the 06' cluster.
    On a 10' it's on pin #38.

It looks like you got lucky. As the 2010 doesn't look to use pin #37.
    So it should be empty.

You'd need to depin #38 (Blue/Yellow), and repin it to #37 for the light to work.

I think overlooked my concern, when I say there's no light I mean no light, no icon to light or any traction control function in the clusterScreenshot_20240909-164556.png
